Section: Matte Painting

Here you can find a collection of my Matte Paintings, both commercial and personal projects;
Some of the images bellow won several awards and were included in books such as Expose and D'Artiste; You can find related information in each image caption.

Backgrounds / Environments

These are mattes which are made from scratch, often following a concept art supplied by the Supervisor; They can be used as backgrounds for a live action, as a stand-alone projection - introducing a certain environment or even as illustration for various purposes.

Set Extensions / Film (Re-building)

These are mattes which enhance a certain plate onto which actors play or an action is about to happen. Usually, the active set is left untouched and everything around it is changed more or less, depending on the shot requirements and Art Director's vision.
